The Solinst 464 Pump Control Unit is available in two versions, the 125 psi or the 250 psi. The Model 464 control unit is ideal for controlling bladder pumps and double valve pumps. It is extremely effective for VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and low flow groundwater sampling.
The 464 Electronic Pump Control Unit uses 4 AA alkaline batteries that last up to 100 hours of normal use. However, if these were to fail on the field, the control can still be operated manually from a source of compressed gas.
Both versions of the Model 464 feature automatic flow rates as well as the additional option of 99 custom made flow rates. These can be saved in the units FRAM memory. The Pump Control Unit allows faster purge rates and precise low flow control to ensure a representative sample at 100ml/min or less when sampling for VOCs.
These units are suitable for all environments due to their rugged and reliable design. Quick connect fittings allow instant attachment to dedicated well caps, portable reel units and to an air compressor or compressed gas source.
Operating PrinciplesThe Pump Control Unit controls the supply of compressed gas to pneumatic pumps including Solinst Bladder Pumps and Double Valve Pumps. To generate a better water flow, drive (pressure) and vent periods are cycled. During the drive period, water is forced into the sample tubing. During the vent period water is allowed to re-enter the pump. This process can be controlled manually or automatically.
