Overview

The Solinst 101 Water Level Meter is the most accurate and reliable water level dip meter in the Solinst range. It has been specially designed for water level measurement in wells, boreholes, standpipes and tanks. This water level meter is very easy to use and reads accurately to each millimetre or 1/100ft.

There are a wide range of probe designs available on these water level meters. The P7 probe is attached to a laser marked PVDF flat tape which is fitted to a sturdy reel. It is submersible up to 1000ft (300m) making it ideal for measuring total well depth. The sensor found at the tip of the probe measures consistently with almost zero displacement.

The P2 probe has been designed with a shield to prevent any false readings in cascading water. The probe has a stainless steel body with a neoprene heat shrink seal. It is not suitable for submergence to any significant depth. The P2 probe is attached to a heat embossed polyethylene tape which is easy to repair.

The meter is powered by a 9 volt battery that is housed in an easy access drawer.

Tape	The high quality polyethylene tape reels smoothly, remains flexible and hangs straight in the well, irrespective of temperature. Permanent markings at each millimeter or 1/100 ft. allow accurate readings, traceable to national standards. The 3/8” (10 mm) wide tapes come in lengths up to 6000 ft. (1800 m). Stranded stainless steel conductors resist corrosion, provide strength and are non-stretch. They make the tape very easy to repair and splice. The dog-bone design reduces adherence to wet surfaces. Markings are permanently impregnated onto one side of the tape in your choice of scale.
Probe Options	Probes are designed to reduce or eliminate false readings in cascading water.
P2 Standard	Stainless steel with a neoprene strain relief. Not suitable for submergence to any significant depth. Easy to repair. Size: 0.55” dia., 7.5” long (14 mm x 190 mm)
P7 Submersible	The P7 Probe is submersible up to 1000 ft. (300 m), ideal for measuring total well depth. The sensor at the tip of the probe provides consistent measurements with almost zero displacement. The tape seal plug design allows the probe to be quickly and easily replaced, if required. Size: 5/8” dia., 5.38” long (16 mm x 137 mm)
Length Options	Solinst Model 101 Water Level Meters are available< on reels as shown at right, in the following standard lengths:
Small Reel	30 m / 100 ft 60 m / 200 ft 100 m / 300 ft
Medium Reel	150 m / 500 ft 200 m / 650 ft 250 m / 750 ft 300 m / 1000 ft
Large Reel	400 ft / 1250 ft 500 m / 1650 ft 600 m / 2000 ft
Other Options
Power Reels	Power reels can be very useful to allow faster or less strenuous operation of longer lengths of tape. Power Reels are available as 110V and 12VDC, on request.
Carrying Bag	Small and medium padded nylon carrying bags are available, as an optional extra. Their design has a convenient shoulder strap, zippered front pocket, zippered top, and a grommet in the base to prevent moisture build-up.
