A Study of Potential Groundwater Contamination

RS Hydro were recently approached to provide a solution for proving the effectiveness of a costly remediation strategy. The remediation process was to be used to solve a potential groundwater contamination problem caused by a leaking underground petroleum tank. Such contaminated leaks are not uncommon in groundwater and remediation circles. Injecting oxygen into the groundwater (commonly known as bioremidiation) offers an effective solution to this problem. This process is often costly, so a thorough, ongoing monitoring program to assess the contamination in the groundwater can provide accurate data to justify these costs.

RS Hydro recommended the use of a multi-parameter sonde in combination with a bladder pump and PDA to provide a complete solution for this application. The multiparameter sonde is at the leading edge of water quality monitoring technology. It’s robust design, wide range of connectivity and unrivalled accuracy have set a new benchmark in its sector. With up to fourteen sensors that can each be calibrated in under five minutes and replaced in the field, the sonde is incredibly versatile and easy to use.
