Monitoring Solutions

The difference between good data and bad data is not simply down to instrument selection. A significant part of a monitoring outstation's success is down to its design and having solutions that are flexible to applications. This is why we have designed the most comprehensive and flexible range of monitoring outstations for the provisions of the Environment Act. These include portable, pumped, kiosk and PLC-based systems that can run on mains or battery/solar power whilst maintaining a minimal footprint.

Portable Solutions

Our BD1 system can be used as a fully portable monitoring outstation or as part of a kiosk pumped system and powered by solar panels as small as 5-watts. The BD1 is housed in a small rugged IP66 peli-case enclosure which can be connected to a range of water quality, flow/level and meteorological sensors with options for SDI12, modbus, analogue and pulse inputs. Additional power and relay output allows it to power up and control autosamplers and peristaltic pumps. Using the latest IoT technology, data is logged and transferred in near real-time (every minute if required).

Permanent Solutions

If all you need is the same functionality as our BD1 system but in a permanent solution, then our BD2 options are ideal. This monitoring station is mounted inside a high security galvanised steel pillar (colour of your choice) with a detachable foot measuring just 300mm wide by 770mm high. This design is designed to look inconspicuous and looks timeless on any street or path. Alternatively, we also offer the BD2b as a telemetry bollard and would typically be used where external power or battery backup is preferred. Please consult us for options.

SCADA Solutions

Our BD4 s ystem was designed for real-time process control in mind and providing 1-second real-time data. The BD4 is built on a modular PLC system which can provide and accept digital or analog input/outputs. An RTU option means that you can also view the data wirelessly outside the SCADA network. The BD4-PF version provides an integrated pumped flow cell controlled by the PLC. Kiosk design can be floor- or wall-mounted and in a mixture of materials ranging from GRP, aluminium or stainless steel.

DataBuoy Solutions

RS Hydro provide a range of databuoy solutions. As the exclusive Nexsens distributor for the UK/Ireland, we are able to provide data buoy monitoring solutions designed for deployment in lakes, rivers, coastal waters, harbours, estuaries and other freshwater or marine environments. Our solutions are self-powered and include all aspects including solar panels, charge regulator, batteries, RTUs (GPRS or Iridium satellite), marine beacon and all attachments for sensors, moorings and additional sensors such as weather stations, wave sensors, thermistor strings and doppler current profilers.
