The Eutech Alpha 2000 pH/ORP Controller/Transmitter is intuitive whilst being user friendly. It has been designed and built for use in rugged industrial environments, it has been cased in an IP65 NEMA 4X casing which provides weatherproof and corrosion-resistant protection against harsh elements. The Alpha 2000 has symmetrical mode of operation as standard which is the perfect solution for use in electrically noisy environments. To take full advantage of this feature the user must have an electrode with a solution ground (potential matching) pin. If this is not the case and the electrode does not have a solution ground the meter must be set to Asymmetrical mode. A wide pH range of -2.00 to 16.00 pH is delivered to two decimal accuracy and when set to ORP mode measurements are in mV or % concentration with independent calibration modes.
This user friendly controller/transmitter alerts the user when the meter or electrode requires maintenance and provides all the necessary trouble-shooting prompts that will ever be required. After each calibration the meter displays the electrode status whilst the quick, easy push button calibration is complete with auto-buffer recognition. A helpful feature for ease of use is the ability to control and measure pH and ORP simultaneously with the use of 'master-slave' operation this is achieved by placing two controllers side by side.
The Alpha pH 2000 pH/ORP Controller/Transmitter has the option of being used in Asymmetrical or Symmetrical modes the difference is:
Asymmetrical
This is the optimum choice for working in environments where there is little or no electrical noise. In environments where electrical noise is present the noise acts as a common signal and is picked up by both the pH and the reference electrodes. However, since the reference electrode is grounded to the ground potential of the amplifier, electrical noise will be present only on the pH electrode, this noise in turn will be amplified along with the pH signal casuing reading fluctuations in an electrically noisy atmosphere. Electrical noise from a DC source (as in an electroplating tank) will typically result in stable but incorrect values.
Symmetrical
Symmetrical mode works by avoiding grounding the reference electrode by reconfiguring the input to a floating differential mode. The result of this is electrical noise appears equally on the pH and reference electrodes and is in turn rejected by the operational amplifier.
