RS Hydro were tasked with providing a solution for a gravity fall drainage pipe for a condenser process within a motor industry production site.
A flowmeter was required for a gravity fall condensate drainage pipe, located within a production facility for vehicle components. Further challenges were raised due to there being no pump to overcome pressure losses, therefore a flowmeter system causing no pressure drop was also required.
The Panametrics AT600 was an ideal candidate for this application, as it has been for many others. The cost-effective system can monitor a velocity range up to 12m/s.
Once the flowmeter was in position, RS Hydro sent an engineer to perform the system’s programming. The AT600, once programmed, managed to monitor the fluid flow inside of the pipe with ease.
The observed speed of sound within water of 1473 m/s measured by the AT600 was incredibly close to the standard empirically observed value (1470 m/s). The closer the soundspeed value that the ultrasonic flowmeter is to the empirically observed value, the stronger the signal.
Panametrics flowmeters have advanced levels of diagnostic data, providing an overview of the signal’s behaviour within the pipe.
