It's very much a prerequisite in todays world to be able to import and export datasets between different organisations and databases. Sharing meaningful water quality data, especially real-time bacterial information such as e.coli, faecal coliforms and enterococci, between organisations will be essential if all stakeholders are to be engaged within any given catchment. This includes water companies, farmers, rivers trusts, recreational clubs and regulators. We know that our part is to provide the best data and to get it where its needed in real-time; all of the data captured by our IoT telemetry systems can be integrated with any other party using a variety of interfaces:
Data integration is not complicated and the preferred option is typically via the REST API method. It’s so simple that even the manual is only a couple of pages of A4. Any of our clients then have the ability to seemlessly integrate real-time data into their own systems giving it the appearance that even the remotest system is a fully connected hard-wired system; pretty amazing considering your outstation could be a databuoy 2 miles off the UK coast!
The API connection offers read-write functionality so that clients can actually edit or add data to the system. All data is requested using URLs and HTTP Verbs (specified actions on the node).
